  1. I have downloaded your Linux 17 “LXDE” edition, It works perfect from the cd, just what I was looking for. I installed it on an old Dell dimension 1100 laptop with a Intel celleron processor and a Gig of ram, Unfortunately after the installation I get a blank screen (nothing)

What I can’t understand is if it works perfect running from the live CD why am I having problems after I have installed it, Please let me know how I can get this up and running, I do want to install it on this system

    Thank you in advance

  2. Hi!. I installed this distro in my 8 years old Asus laptop. It is working perfectly out of the box. I tried to install Skype but without success. Can someone help in this matter? Thank you and congratulation for this distro to Hanthana team!

  3. Marius,
    Thanks for your feedback.
Which Skype version you have downloaded?

    Please follow these steps

    01. run the following command as root in the terminal
    yum -y install libXv.i686 libXScrnSaver.i686 qt.i686 qt-x11.i686 pulseaudio-libs.i686 pulseaudio-libs-glib2.i686 alsa-plugins-pulseaudio.i686

    02. Now install the Skype
you can use either rpm -ivh or yum localinstall as follows
    rpm -ivh .rpm

    yum localinstall .rpm

Feel free to hang around the #hanthaan IRC channel in freenode if you have any issues. :)

Btw, whats your system configuration (just asking).

  4. Want to applaud your recent release of hanthana 17 LXDE as its excellent and Im running it on my AMD64 3200+ system as I type this. Overall experience so far has been amazing and havent run into any issues so far but used many LXDE distros and yours compares very favorably to the competition.
Looking forward to your future efforts!

  5. 1) Downloaded the livecd iso from a Windows computer (running Kaspersky AV). Download had no problems.
    2) Burned the iso image to a CD using another Windows PC. Tried to boot from the CD on soome Windows machines: error message shown below appeared:
    ISOLINUX 4.05 2011-12-09 ETCD Copyright (C) 1994-2011 H. Peter Anvin et al
No DEFAULT or UI configuration directive found!

    3) Tried on Ubuntu machine and the same message as above appeared.

    My guesses: i) The download had some problem probably the AV program removing some components and/or files;
ii) Burning to the CD had a problem.

Studied the workarounds people have explained here on this page. Will try some of them and see what the result is. This is for your information and hope this feedback will be useful.
